New Resources and Tools
The MLC has recently launched new data management tools for our Members – the Claiming Tool and Public Search API – as well as a suite of resources for French-speaking rightsholders.
Claiming Tool
In early February, we launched the initial version of our Claiming Tool - the newest addition to our suite of data management tools for Members. Accessible via The MLC Portal, the Claiming Tool allows Members to search the partially claimed musical works in our database, identify works for which they have not yet registered a share, and them register (or claim) those missing shares so they can begin receiving royalties from The MLC for uses of that work.
Public Search API
The first version of The MLC’s Public Search API is also now available in BETA. Once set-up, the Public Search API allows users to retrieve information about works in The MLC database directly from their own computer systems. The Public Search API should be particularly helpful to larger organizations that are responsible for managing large numbers of musical works. You can fill out this form to request access to the Public Search API.
If you already subscribe to our Bulk Data Feed and would like to request access to the Public Search API, you can request access by contacting our team at publicapi@themlc.com.
French-Language Resource Page
The MLC recently published a brand new French-language resource page, to help French speaking rightsholders learn about The MLC and the benefits of becoming a Member. You can access these resources by going to the Resources page on our website, or you can access them directly by using our newly-launched French-language URL: lamlc.com. Once there, you will find a French version of The MLC’s 60-second “explainer video” and French-language versions of our "Digital Royalties Landscape" infographic, our “How It Works” infographic that explains how The MLC operates, information about how to become a Member of The MLC, and more. With the publication of these materials, The MLC now offers a full suite of educational materials in English, French, and Spanish (elmlc.com).
